- — In-game description
The Lee Enfield is a British bolt-action rifle found in DayZ.
The Lee Enfield's cartridges deal high damage of 6722 blood, have moderately-high recoil, and when fired, have an audible range of up to 162 meters from the shooter's position. The effective range of this weapon is up to 400 meters.
The Lee Enfield can kill a player in up to two shots to the body, or one shot to the head, as can all weapons and ammunition in DayZ. The Lee Enfield can kill a zombie in one shot, but viral zombies require multiple shots.
The Lee Enfield is a rare civilian rifle that has a 0.72% chance of spawning in Residential and low yield Military loot spawns, a 2.11% chance of spawning in Farm spawns and a 0.61% chance of spawning in Supermarkets. These spawn chances are equal to 9 out of 1 250, 211 out of 10 000 and 61 out of 10 000.
The Lee Enfield has no special finishes and no attachments. The zeroing of the iron sights cannot be adjusted. Its rate of fire is slow as it is a bolt-action rifle and its large audible range means zombies and players can hear it being fired from a great distance. This is why the gun is known as the 'dinner bell' and firing it is to 'ring the dinner bell.' The player can use this characteristic to their advantage by drawing a horde of zombies to another player in city, as an example.
The Lee-Enfield is a bolt-action, magazine-fed, repeating rifle that was the main firearm used by the military forces of the British Empire and Commonwealth during the first half of the 20th century.
